Members and friends of Mount Olive work to be and to encounter the presence of Christ beyond our neighborhood through our prayers, hands-on work, advocacy, and financial support.
Mount Olive commits 4 percent of its total giving to global ministries. The Global Ministry committee chooses which ministries to support, facilitates relationships with those partners, and educates the congregation on these and other ministries.
In addition to walking with these ministry partners, . . .
- We mentor a family from Afghanistan and respond to other needs around the world as they arise.
- We sponsor partnership trips to our supported ministries, so far including Guatemala, India, and Palestine.
- We host a holiday Gifts that Give sale, offering gifts that give back to our ministry partners—gifts such as ornaments, handcrafts from Guatemala, and fair trade coffee and chocolate.
- Once a year we sponsor a Taste of a Nation event to learn about a particular country’s food, music, and culture, and to raise awareness of global problems and ways Christians are working to solve them.
