Through this sacrament we are brought into the body of Christ, becoming members of Christ’s church.
Lutherans baptize infants, children, and adults. A pouring of water is accompanied by anointing with oil, tracing a cross on the forehead and breast; lighting a candle; and offering prayers. Baptisms always take place at regular liturgies, especially on feast days that emphasize entry into the church. Inquire about baptism.
